The fact that birds are more ancient than most other creatures on Earth, as old as dinosaurs and technically from an extinct era, leaves me speechless.

They are prehistoric creatures who survived the "end of the world" that took place 66 million years ago. Very few other creature did.
Birds made it to this day despite their hollow bones and delicate structure, despite their apparently smaller brains and comparatively low body weights.... Birds are much, much older than we are; having evolved for 150 million years on this Earth before we first appeared... yet, somehow, they manage to look like they are from the future...

When I look at birds, I see poetry and legend in motion.
